Physiotherapist — Rondebosch, Cape Town
I chose physiotherapy because I wanted to understand the body — how it works, how it breaks down, and what it takes to recover. Every patient who walks through the door has a goal worth working toward, whether that’s finishing a race or getting through a full day at work without pain.
Endurance sport is my own passion — long distance running, cycling, rock climbing, and anything that challenges the body and mind over time. I’m drawn to the process of building fitness as much as the result, which means I understand not just the physical demands of training but the mental investment that comes with it. That experience shapes how I approach every patient, active or not.
My approach starts with listening. Really listening. Not just to where it hurts, but to how it happened, how it’s affecting your life, and what getting better actually means to you. From there, a thorough assessment allows me to name the problem — not just treat a symptom — and build a plan that makes sense for your body and your goals.
I also believe in being honest about what I know and what I don’t. The body is complex, recovery isn’t always linear, and sometimes the plan needs to change. Being willing to adapt — to question, reassess and try a different approach — is in my view what separates good clinical care from average care.
And perhaps most importantly, I believe that the best outcome is one where you need me less. My job is to treat you, educate you and equip you — so that you understand your body well enough to manage it yourself, prevent future injury and keep moving the way you’re meant to.
